Northern Area Eastern Conference 2008 The Toronto Section of NACE International will be hosting the 2008 Northern Area Eastern Conference from October 27 to 28 at The Westin Harbor Castle in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Section has a strong tradition of organizing quality conferences with both valuable and relevant technical programs. The 2008 Conference titled "Minimizing Infrastructure Corrosion" is being planned as a forum for dialogue, assessment and exchange of information about all aspects of the prevention, control and management of corrosion with emphasis on infrastructure and public utilities. The conference will actively promote discussion and cross-fertilization of ideas among practicing engineers, industrial consultants and corrosion professionals working in numerous areas related to the subject.
The International Symposium titled "Fundamental Corrosion Research in Progress" will be part of the conference. The objective of the Symposium is to bring together established and emerging researchers working in the various areas of corrosion science and industry leaders to review the current state of corrosion research in the context of industry needs. There will be an exhibitor area that will showcase their latest technologies and services. The Westin Harbor Castle is located at the waterfront within walking distance of fine restaurants, theatres and the CN tower. Anyone of these activities will keep you busy when you are not attending a seminar or visiting our exhibitors. It has been four years since Northern Area visited Toronto and our Section is not only excited to welcome you back to our city, but we are also working hard to ensure that your visit will be well worth the trip. We look forward to seeing you again. Antony Simcoe
