2011 DoD Corrosion Conference Tours

Option 1: Pioneer Jeep Adventure on the San Andreas Fault

Discover the real desert...it's not golf, shopping or celebrities. The San Andreas Fault is the treasure of the desert. Pan for gold and learn how early pioneers coped with the extreme climate, primitive living conditions, and the back-breaking business of prospecting, mining, and extracting gold from ore. As your journey continues, you will explore steep-walled canyons and deep gorges created by the San Andreas Fault as you follow the prospector's quest for gold trapped in the veins of quartz rock.

Dress is casual, pants or shorts, closed-toed shoes (mandatory), sweater or jacket. Layered clothing always works well and don't forget your camera. Includes resort pick-up and drop off; driver narrated tour; light refreshments and bottled water; all taxes and gratuities.

Option 2: Palm Springs Celebrity Home Tour

Be involved in the glamor and glitz that is Palm Springs. You will see the magnificent estates and homes of the world's most famous celebrities and international socialites such as Walter Annenberg, Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope.

Drive past the elegant palm trees, bougainvillea-lined streets of Palm Springs, so long a retreat from Hollywood, and thrill as you become part of the town that was and is the home of Howard Hughes, Alan Ladd and Debbie Reynolds, Liberace, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley, Kirk Douglas, Katherine Hepburn, Berry Gordy, Clint Eastwood, Barry Manilow and producers of every major Hollywood studio from Jack Warner of Warner Brothers Studios to Jerry Weintraub, the producer of Ocean's 11 and 12.
