NACE Student Meeting
Generation Next: A Younger Perspective on the Corrosion Industry
Monday, March 14
3:30 to 5 p.m.

This lively panel discussion will focus on current and future trends in the corrosion industry, and how they affect today’s young professionals. This session is geared toward students and those with five years or less industry experience, and will be presented by your peers who have recently entered the industry and industry professionals who have mentored young professionals. A Q&A session will follow.

Student Poster Session

Exhibit Hall of the George R. Brown Convention Center

The NACE International Research Committee is again sponsoring its annual Student Poster Session during CORROSION 2011 Conference & Expo, March 14 -17, 2011, in Houston, Texas, USA.

Posters will be on display in the exhibit hall on Monday evening through Thursday, and will be manned by the students on Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 12 to 1 p.m. On Wednesday, the winners will be announced at noon.

Students (undergraduate, graduate, or post doctorate) can present completed research, research in progress, or even planned research. The posters will be judged on technical content, use of scientific method, potential impact on the corrosion community, novelty of approach, the esthetic quality of the poster, and the verbal presentation.
Students must attend the conference to participate.
Abstracts must be 300 to 400 words in length, single-spaced, and contain no photos, graphs, or figures.
There can only be one student per poster. Students should acknowledge the assistance of their advisor and any fellow students under acknowledgments. Students must indicate whether they are classified as undergraduate, graduate, or post graduate.
All entrants will be notified by January 18, 2011, whether or not their abstracts have been accepted for poster presentation at the NACE International CORROSION 2011 Conference & Expo. Each student may submit his or her poster in any of the three categories: Corrosion Science, Corrosion Engineering, or Applied Corrosion Technology.

$9,000 in Total Prize Money, 9 Different Prizes
Prizes are awarded in three categories—The Mars Fontana Prize for the best posters in Corrosion Engineering, the Marcel Pourbaix Prize for the best posters in Corrosion Science, and the Harvey Herro Prize for the best poster in Applied Corrosion Technology. Prizes will be awarded for first place, second place, and for third place in each category.

In addition, there will be a prize for the best undergraduate poster.

Students may attend all phases of the conference, such as:

Technical sessions
Keynote presentations
Exhibits
Poster session, etc., with professionals in the corrosion engineering field

Each student will receive:

Free one-year student membership to NACE International—which includes access to Materials Performance and CORROSION journal;
