17th International Corrosion Congress
Corrosion Control in the Service of Society!

Viva Las Vegas!

Viva Las Vegas! The International Corrosion Congress is held once every three years and hosted by different countries to promote technology exchange and establish international relationships. In 2008, it will be held in the U.S.A. in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Many countries have recognized the enormous cost to global economies resulting from corrosion. A significant portion of this cost is avoidable through effective communication of corrosion mitigation practices and further savings can accrue through increased knowledge-sharing of corrosion research and development.

The 17th International Corrosion Congress will have a special focus on corrosion control in the service of society. There is a general recognition that energy reliability, environmental stewardship, and the preservation of infrastructure are three of the most important challenges facing the world. Corrosion control plays a critical role in addressing each of these challenges. Therefore, the conference is organized thematically along these three major challenges. The conference also provides a forum for papers on a broad range of corrosion topics that are important to society, but that do not neatly fit into one of these three major themes.
