NACE Extends International Reach

The NACE 2013-2018 Strategic Plan identifies the need for NACE to be effective globally and to position NACE as the leading organization addressing corrosion. Specifically, one point of the NACE globalization goal is to "Increase involvement and influence with the International Standards Organization (ISO) and other standard development organizations (SDOs)."

International Technical Information Exchange a Success!

In December 2012, Specific Technology Groups (STG) 35's TEG 080X, "Well Casings, Corrosion Control: Information Exchange," sponsored its first international meeting with a technical information exchange (TIE) session. The session led by Hasan Sabri, TIE chair, was held in Fahaheel, Kuwait, with 22 participants in attendance.

Something to Celebrate...

Several times a year, NACE's Technical Coordination Committee (TCC) recognizes members who have achieved service milestones by presenting them with a lapel pin to acknowledge their years of technical committee service. This year the following members received a service pin.

Student Member Shares Her CORROSION 2013 Experience

I'm a recent graduate of the Chemical Laboratory Technology program at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary, Alberta. Since becoming a NACE member last September, my membership has opened a lot of opportunities. Simply being aware of events and programs enabled me to take part, which resulted in great opportunities for learning and networking. Throughout my experiences I am grateful for how NACE catered to students by providing discounts and scholarships so money wouldn't be an obstacle.

NACE International 2013 Association Awards

Each year through the association's award program, NACE recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the corrosion industry. Members were recognized for their contributions to NACE and the corrosion industry at the CORROSION 2013 awards banquet held March 20, 2013, in Orlando, Florida.
